Young CEDA Welcomes the New Decade with a New Chair

2020-02-10

Following outstanding service from outgoing chair, Peter de Looze (Monitrax), Young CEDA is pleased to introduce Ir Mark Petri, dredging consultant for Royal IHC, as the new chair.

Young CEDA Commission - Chair - Mark Petri // markpetri.jpg (105 K)Mark sees dredging as a fascinating industry, with exciting projects and amazing equipment, and he is delighted to be taking on the role. He says, “It’s important to help young people entering the field to feel at home and hit the ground running. My ambition for Young CEDA is to organise activities, and events, that will enable our young professionals to get to know each other and share their knowledge”.

He plans to make a few changes to the Commission and explains, “My first task is to form a new board in the Netherlands. Many of the Dutch board members will be leaving, as they come to the end of their term, so I’ll be looking for three or four enthusiastic people, representing different companies, to join us. I invite CEDA corporate members to nominate youngsters for the vacant positions.”

Corporate members wishing to nominate a young professional should contact CEDA Secretariat for details.

In a final word Peter said, “After three years, full of good memories, it’s definitely time to hand over the reins and let someone new build on Young CEDA’s achievements. I look forward to seeing how Mark will shape Young CEDA as it prepares our young professionals for the coming decade.”
