Announcement by CEDA President

This has been a year of unexpected challenges for all of us as a result of the Covid19 pandemic, which has taken its toll on the global economy and fundamentally changed the maritime infrastructure landscape for years to come. It has also seen the closure of Dredging and Port Construction magazine, which was published by IHS Markit, and had its last edition published in April 2020.

However, the ability to innovate and come up with solutions is one of the things our sector is extremely well known for – and I am glad to see that our industry is keeping business going as much as is possible and continuing to push the boundaries of technology. We at CEDA have also had to come up with a new solution to fulfil our mandate of sharing knowledge and keeping our members up to speed with developments in the international dredging, port construction and marine engineering fields.

As such, we have partnered with Intent Communications to create a new Industry News section for the CEDA website, which will offer a mix of free news stories and members-only editorial insight articles. You can learn more about the new section here and we encourage you to read the articles regularly and share these with your network. The editorial team would also welcome your input into new articles and you are invited to reach out to them by email (cin@dredging.org).

The CEDA Board wants to express that we wish everyone the best in these challenging times and hope that all our members stay healthy themselves and keep others healthy. We look forward to in-person meetings when it is safe to do so and we will continue to inspire each other in a virtual way in the meantime. This newsletter is one of new exciting tools to get this done and we hope that you enjoy reading it.
