Since it was founded in 1978, CEDA has championed the professional development and success of those in dredging and associated fields. This has taken the form of sharing technical knowledge, supporting effective working practices and encouraging international networking and relationship-building.

In April 2020 IHS Markit made the decision to close down Dredging and Port Construction magazine, which had served as the official publication for CEDA and its members. Over the summer, we took the opportunity to review the best options to find a suitable replacement that will keep you up to date on industry news and CEDA activities.

The result is CEDA Industry News, a new section on the CEDA website that will contain a monthly blend of dredging, ports and marine engineering news, and cover the various areas of interest to our members. While some of the articles will be free for anyone to read, there will be some in-depth articles produced every month that are exclusive to our members and require you to log in to access them.

CEDA Industry News will be produced by the team of journalists and experts at Intent Communications, under the editorial remit of the CEDA Communications Commission (CCC). Intent Communications is led by Namrata Nadkarni, whom many of you will know from her time as Head of Content at IHS Markit, overseeing and editing magazines such as DPC and Ports & Harbors, amongst other industry titles.

We are pleased to be working with Namrata again and are confident that the team at Intent Communications will produce articles of a high quality and continue to add value to CEDA membership,” says Anna Csiti, CEDA General Manager. “We invite you to regularly read CEDA Industry News and let us know what you think.”

Intent Communications founder and CEO, Namrata Nadkarni says, “I’m thrilled to be creating news content for CEDA and writing about the dredging, port and engineering sectors again. I encourage all CEDA members to reach out to us with any stories that they would like us to consider for inclusion on the website and in the free, monthly newsletter. We are eager to hear from you.

The CCC has set up an editorial board to oversee content schedules and approve articles before publication. If you have any industry stories that you would like us to share with our readers, please send your ideas to cin@dredging.org for editorial consideration.
