New CEDA representative for OSPAR & ongoing search for MSFD Navi Chair

2022-09-16

We are pleased to announce that Arjan Wijdeveld, Geochemical Expert at Deltares, will be the new CEDA representative for OSPAR in the Working Group on Environmental Impact of Human Activities. Arjan holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Geosciences from TU Delft. He is chair of the SedNet Working Group on Circular Economy Use of Sediment and was a member of the CEDA Working Group on Beneficial Use of Sediment. In both work groups, and in his professional career at Deltares as Geochemical Expert on sediment/water interaction, he worked with the OSPAR convention and the linkage to the EU Water Framework Directive marine strategy. He works for both the dredging industry and for governmental organisations. We would like to thank Arjan for his candidacy and wish him all the best in this new role.

Please note that we are still looking for a new chair for the MSFD Navi Group. This is also a very important position to CEDA and its members so please think carefully if you know anyone suitable for this position. For further information, and/or to apply, please see the original invitation or contact Frederik Roose, Chairman of CEC (frederik.roose@mow.vlaanderen.be) or Mieke van Loenen, General Manager of CEDA (miekevanloenen@dredging.org).
