Understanding dredging

CEDA-UK: Half-day seminar

DREDGING FOR FLOOD PREVENTION AND RESPONSE

To be held at the Institution of Civil Engineers, One Great George Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3AA.

The September CEDA half-day seminar will focus on dredging in flood prevention and response: what can dredging do to reduce the risk of flooding and how can it contribute to a response after a flood event?

With case studies from the Somerset Levels, Cumbria and Scotland, regulators and advisors, the seminar will look at how dredging can play a part in flood management.

Plus – just in case you’ve not heard enough about it following the result of the EU Referendum, the seminar may also be able to provide the first chance to discuss how dredging may be affected by the UK’s decision.

The Seminar will finish at 17.00 hours

 Refreshments will be provided.

 Chair:

Nicola Clay, Chair CEDA UK, Royal HaskoningDHV.

The final programme of speakers will be confirmed in due course and will include:

Michiel Luyken, Senior Cost Estimator, Boskalis Westminster Ltd –Aberdeen Emergency Works.

James Maclean, Managing Director, Land & Water Group Ltd – Somerset Levels
