Abstract

"Narrow multi-beam (NMB) survey has been widely adopted to acquire the shape of underwater structures in marine construction. Analytical procedures such as noise reduction and superposition are necessary for NMB survey, and the lack of real-time acquisition is a problem. We have developed the "Beluga-AR" system that can demonstrate the appearance of underwater structures in real time by superimposing 3D-sonar measurement data and a three-dimensional model as part of our efforts towards "i-Construction". In this paper, we introduce the outline of the system, the results of verification tests of the measurement accuracy and examples of adoption on construction sites."
