Abstract
This work uniquely links one-dimensional compression behavior of crushable sands to three-dimensional grain-scale degradation using X-ray tomography, enabling direct interpretation of stiffness evolution and particle breakage mechanisms that cannot be resolved by conventional macroscopic testing alone.
