Abstract: For the Belgian Coast a large Master Plan is under construction to estimate and reduce the coastal flood risk. The whole Belgium coast was examined to identify the weak points and measures are examined to reduce the flood risk. An example of reducing flood risk is the emergency beach nourishment in Ostend. But not only beach nourishments will be considered. Also to use of storm return walls and other constructions will be examined. To evaluate the solutions a social cost benefit analysis will be made.
