In the coming months, we will be introducing the various non-paper sessions included in the Dredging Days 2026 programme. This time, the session on the Oosterweel Project.
We’re excited to host a dedicated session on one of Belgium’s most ambitious infrastructure projects: the Oosterweel Project. This session will take you behind the scenes of the construction of eight massive tunnel elements in Zeebrugge, their floating and towing operations to Antwerp, the related dredging works, and the installation process. You will also learn how advanced hydrodynamic modelling led to a detailed predictive model of the river Scheldt, ensuring precision and safety throughout the execution of this marvellous project.
